چکیده [English]

The present study aimed to provide a structural model of the role of childhood trauma in marital maintenance and relationship violence, with spousal value as a mediator. The statistical population consisted of married individuals from the city of Darab, and the sampling method was convenience sampling. The sample size was 300 individuals. The nature of this research was fundamental, and it employed a descriptive-correlational design. Data were collected using the following questionnaires: The Childhood Trauma Questionnaire (CTQ), developed by Bernstein (1994), Relationship Maintenance Strategies (RMS), developed by Stafford & Canary (1991), Conflict Resolution Tactics (CRT), developed by Straus (1996), and Marital Values Scale (VWS), developed by John Edlund and Brad Sagarin (2014). The findings indicated a negative relationship between childhood trauma and marital maintenance, a positive relationship between childhood trauma and relationship violence, a negative relationship between childhood trauma and spousal value, a positive relationship between spousal value and marital maintenance, and a negative relationship between spousal value and relationship violence. Additionally, childhood trauma was found to negatively impact marital maintenance through the mediating variable of spousal value and positively impact relationship violence through the same mediator. Overall, it can be concluded that childhood trauma negatively affects marital maintenance and positively affects relationship violence through the mediating role of spousal value.
