Child abuse by parents is a very painful phenomenon for children and society, which turns the family environment into an unreliable environment for children .The purpose of this research was to investigate the causes of child abuse in mothers with a history of child abuse based on the opinion of experts from social emergency centers in Isfahan city. The method of selecting participants was purposeful among the personnel working in social emergency centers and health. The method of data collection was semi-structured interviews that contained questions related to the experience of experts in the field of factors related to child abuse. The data obtained from the interview were analyzed using the network theme analysis method of (Clarck & Braun, 2019). Results showed that the causes of child abuse include three main categories; Child- oriented causes (causes related to the health and growth of the child and how the child is accepted in the family), family- oriented causes (socio-economic causes in the family and personal and psychological injuries in the family) and society- oriented causes (causes related to law and planning and it can be concluded that in order to prevent child abuse, the three causes of child-centered, family-centered, and community-centered should be considered as the main factors and preventive strategies of child abuse should be designed based on these factors.
