Abstract
The aim of the study was to determine the effectiveness of mindfulness on the quality of life and rumination of veterans' spouses with depressive disorders who referred to the control counseling centers in southern Khuzestan. The research design was a quasi-experimental design with pre-test-post-test with two experimental and control groups that were selected by convenience; and since the statistical population included veterans' spouses with depressive disorders who referred to the control counseling centers in southern Khuzestan, 30 of them were randomly assigned to two experimental and control groups (15 experimental and 15 control group), and the subjects in the experimental group were trained in mindfulness. The measurement tools used were the Warosherbon Quality of Life Scale (1992) and the Nolen-Hoeksma and Morrow Rumination Scale (1991). Inclusion criteria: spouses of veterans with depressive disorder and informed consent to participate in the study, exclusion criteria: withdrawal from further cooperation, having more than 2 absences in training sessions that affect the results, contracting infectious diseases during the sessions. The statistical method of analysis of covariance and SPSS 26 software were used to analyze the data. The findings showed that a significant difference was observed between the post-test means of quality of life and rumination of the two experimental and control groups, and the experimental group had the highest mean (p<0.05). ). In other words, it can be said that mindfulness training is significantly effective on the quality of life and rumination of spouses of veterans with depressive disorder referring to the control counseling centers in southern Khuzestan..
