Abstract

Background and Aim: Paying attention to social problem solving and psychological capital dimensions is necessary because social problem solving can be influenced by psychological capital dimensions. The purpose of the present study was to predict the ability of social problem solving based on the dimensions of psychological capital.
Materials and Methods: This is a descriptive-correlational study that was performed on 150 students of Shahid Chamran University of Ahvaz during the academic year 1396-97. In this study, the Social Problem Solving Questionnaire (SPSI-R) and the Lutz Psychological Capital Questionnaire (PSQ) were used. In addition, Pearson correlation coefficient and multiple regression analysis were used to analyze the data.Results: The results showed that there is no significant relationship between hope and social problem solving; there is no significant relationship between optimism and social problem solving. But there is a significant relationship between self-efficacy and social problem solving and finally there is a significant relationship between resilience and social problem solving.
