Abstract

Unaccompanied children suffer from many psychological problems. The purpose of this study was to compare the symptomsof externalizing disorders(hyperactivity/attention deficit, oppositional/defiant and conduct) in unaccompanied and two parent children in Kermanshah. For this field, forty nine unaccompanied and forty nine two parent children in Kermanshah were selected by convenience sampling method. Children in two groups were matched in age and sex. The research method was causal-comparison. Child Symptom Inventory-4 was used for collecting the data. Multivariate Analysis of Variance (MANOVA) was used for analyzing the data. Results indicated that the symptoms of hyperactivity with attention deficit, oppositional/defiant and conduct disorders were higher in unaccompanied children than two-parent children (P<0.05). Results have many important implications in attending to psychological therapies and trainings for decreasing the symptoms of psychological disorders in unaccompanied children.
