Abstract

This research aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of mindfulness-based cognitive group therapy on depression and quality of sleep in depressed male students. The method of this study was quasi- experimental with pretest-posttest by control group. As the sample 30 students were selected by the available sampling method, who was replace in the experimental group and the control group. The Beck Depression Inventory (BDI) was used as the tool and students who scored above 15 were trained. Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy training (eight session in 90 minutes) was administered on experimental group. The control group wasn't received intervention. Data were analysis by the method of MANCOVA. The result showed that MBCT was effective in reducing depression and increase quality (P 0<05). In general, it can be concluded that Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy to reduce depression and improve sleep quality participants.
